Hey Everyone!
So it's been less than 3 months since my last collegiate season, but I miss it already. like whoah. Just the other day, I was looking for a roomate, and let me tell you it is so sad not to have 10 teammates to choose from! LOL. Though I will say, it is the wierdest thing... there are girls EVERYWHERE here! It's so strange not being a precious commodity anymore! LOLOL I have to open my own doors! How rude! And all the guys have girlfriends it seems! haha not that i'm looking ;)
Anyways, let's see what's going on in my life... I am just strarting to get back into shape after taking most of july off to recover from a long 4 years (err, 7, technically). I went to the UF triathlon club practice a few days ago, and i am thinking about joining if i can't keep my plantar's under control. (yes, still battling). Also, i'm working in a structures lab doing things like shooting roof shingles at glass and building structures to test roofs in the hurricane simulator. It's very cool, but very labor intensive and dangerous hahah. I'm also in the process of finalizing a lease for a 1br apartment, and i'm looking forward to making it home :)
But enough about me! I'm sooo excited for you girls and this season. It's going to be different, that's for sure, but I'm sure it will be wonderful. Oh! Have a blast at camp! My advice: keep your ankles untwisted, and soak up every memory, because soon that's all it will be... aww how sad. okay now something happy. Guess what! If all goes as planned, I'll be in shape to run with you all at UF and the home meet (working on getting an alumni team!). This past week has gone pretty well, so if the trend continues, I'll be available for pacing/racing/cheering, whatever you guys need!
I love you all, even if you are new and i've never met you :) That's what it means to be an Eagle!

Wishing you good luck
Hey ladies,
It's the 3rd of August already, where did summer go!? Despite being at boot camp and now at follow on training the summer has seemed to fly right past. 3 more days and you will all be reuniting in the basketball locker room- meeting the "new kids" for the first time, and for me it seems like I was them (yes you too Salinas!) just yesterday! I know they will be great additions to our team and adequate replacements for those whom we've said farewell to and have moved onto bigger and better things. I am sad to think I will miss all the great memory making moments of camp but am excited for the camp tradition to continue.
Getting back in shape after camp is going to be a job for me. I have to do PT every morning at 645 with the unit I'm attached to but we all know how well ARMY pt stacks up to a real workout! lol. My plan is to run in the evenings and do some core then too. Kentucky seems like good running grounds...some hills, yet flat and hot like FL. I hope it works out for me like planned.
Aside from that I look forward to returning to FL and running regularly. I get back the night of the 21st and school starts first thing the 24th... good bye summer <3
Run fast and hard, Look out for roots, be careful on the gravel and NO injuries at camp!
take care ladies. See you soon.
