life in the real world

hey chicas!

So first off, big thanks to Kira for inviting us "oldies" to join you on the summer blog (i remember back when Jen and I first came up with it, so its great to see you are keeping it up). To the new women joining the Eagles, congrats and welcome! I can't say i have too many wise words of wisdom at this point, but as Jen mentioned, take advantage of the summertime to stay in shape and be ready to do work in the fall.

And now for all the glorious details of my life now that i am a graduate: i have started working at Northrop and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet new people and do "real" engineering. I joined our office flag football league and started playing soccer again...then i tore my ACL. Surgery was last Thursday last week, so i've been recuperating at home this week, prepping myself mentally for the long road of therapy ahead of me. But i'm staying positive and hoping to be ready (at least somewhat) for the home meet in october :)

best of luck to everyone this summer and coming fall season. take care of yourselves (eat, sleep, and ice!). i look forward to seeing records fall :)

hasta luego,

Alex Salinas

  1. Jealous that you get to run the home meet!!! There's no way I can get away mid-season...

haha, and you are the classic example of why coach never let us play soccer in season!

  2. we'll just have our own reunion after season.

funny thing, i totally heard Hopfe's voice in my head when i did it, "this is why soccer is bad for you"
