My first post! :)

Hey everyone!!!
Sorry it's taken me a while to get on here, I'm keeping veryyy busy with my internship and online class. I'm absolutely LOVING Panama City Beach...I was so nervous before I started my internship that I would be bored and lonely all summer. But I made 2 really good friends that are are also interns, and actually grew up here. That helps, because they've introduced me to their friends and shown me everything there is to do around here :) We've also gotten to meet a bunch of the new hires that are just now starting to work on the navy base, or have been here just under a year...there are ALOT of cute, rich, eligible bachelors ladies! haha. I'm going to be sad when my internship is over, it's been a lot of fun and such a good experience...I've learned so much! At work I get to ride on Navy ships and "hunt" mines, meet sailors, run tests in the lab, and debug the navigation system that's on the Navy ship. I also play a lot of Mahjongg (the Chinese tile matching game) when I'm waiting to get help on a problem :) I almost broke 3 minutes the other day, new high score, woo! But anyway, it'll be nice to get back into the normal routine at school, I miss you all!
My first couple weeks here I was doing really well, going to the gym or running right after I got off of work around 4...but the weather is getting ridiculous! I slacked for a few days in there, but I'm getting back into it again :) Yesterday I ran the Hathaway Bridge, which connects the beach with the city, with this cute Navy guy I've been dating :) We're both signing up for a 5k road race on the 19th so I can see where I'm at. I'm sososooo jealous of all you girls and your nice running locations in Sweden, CA, Mass, & MD!!! The humidity here never goes away! But luckily I will be going to Idaho for a week after my internship ends. Idaho State University has the CRAZIEST cross-country course I have ever seen. I will hopefully run it a couple times while I'm there...I'll try to take a picture of the hill at the last 1/4 mile of the course, it's crazy! Hopefully the altitude doesn't kill me ;) I can't wait for camp. I have a feeling this is going to be a great season!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, it's hard to believe it's almost over! Enjoy your 4th of July weekend :)

  3. That's so cool what you're doing with the Navy. i just took a tour a couple days ago at APL about how they solve problems for the navy and they just got done with detecting ships with great accuracy using a radar on an airplane.
