I went for a run in the hills today. They are situated just below the large mountain by my house and have some wonderful single track trails. Taking off at a lovely pace (which quickly turned into a relatively fast pace, lol) I climbed up to the top of this ridge and looked out over the valley, it was beautiful. My mom's dog came with me and once we reached the top of the ridge I had chosen to climb I decided to head back and find my mother for the rest of the run, mind you this is at 22:10. So, turning back we made it to 23:30 when I realize the dog isn't right behind me anymore. She walked for a few feet and then plopped down in the shade, panting and completely exhausted. (So, much for my run) We had to walk the rest of the way back, which ended up taking forever, and at one point I was certain I would have to carry her. So that was interesting. I ended up getting yelled at by my mother for trying to kill her Dog (Oz, anyone? anyone? Great book, everyone should read it). I promptly said that it was not my fault the dog was out of shape. Anyway, my run was really good for the first part, not so great after that, lol. I can't wait until we head out tomorrow for a run in the morning and a bike ride in the afternoon (YEAH!) I'm excited.
Yesterday we rode up the mountain and I pretended I was riding next to Cadel Evans, if you know who I'm talking about then YEAH, if not oh well.
Anyway, I'm suppose to get ready for some family function... joy. Have a great day!! Happy trails!
