..................................i guess it's about that time to give a training log update...
running has been going much better, though i stopped keeping track of what i've been doing since i haven't been home much. thanks to my crater loop, i'm sore almost constantly... it doens't have very good footing, so i'm requiring quite a bit from my stability muscles. of course, using my quads more has been helpful and i'm sure it will help me in the long run, but for now i'm definitely struggling to build strength. 70 minutes was about all i could manage this morning, though i was pleased to have made it that far, considering the terrain. I ran to the beach and around the park there, then back up to the crater loop and did that twice. The second time around definitely went more smoothly than the first though, as usual. typically the first time i hit the loop, everything goes into shock - muscles screaming and it feels like i'm never going to get to the top - but by the second time around i get used to it, or at least calm myself down enough to focus on thigns like footing, swinging my arms, breathing properly, and pushing off with the right muscle groups. I like to think of it kinda like a boxing match or something, where the crater usually wins round one, but i've got round two wrapped around my finger :)

in other news the company threw us a party yesterday to celebrate us interns. we're called chris's minions, and we are sparta, the army. hahah To explain that, "bossman" chris is 25 and the lowest engineer at the company. ironically, he's the only one who gets interns... hence the amusion on the part of the other engineers, and our resulting nickname. Plus the way the office is arranged, you have to pass between our cubicles to get to the main engineers, thus we are the armed forces. lol good times.
i think i'm going to go to the beach now? strange, but i feel like that's the right thing to do in hawaii on a sunday
love, me!
Nice, I'm so jealous!!!
