oh the pain!

so i have been off the radar for a bit...pretty much just working and going to the gym...rinse and repeat...i started physical therapy for my gluteus tendonitis (my mother still laughs at me every time i say it), and it was the most painful experience of my life! the therapist found that my problems arise from the fact that my hips are ridiculously tight/inflexible; so he did this stretch where he puts a strap around my leg, and then it goes around his back and as he leans it totally feels like he is pulling my leg out of the socket (like fire going through my hip). despite nearly crying it did feel better afterward, so i can't complain too much.

sadly there has been little excitement in my life...i've been prepping this major presentation for the Architecture Working Group Meeting coming up in August. Basically it is my job to put together a summary of the changes and progress of the satellite post-launch timeline and present it to one of the working groups. kinda scary since it's a "real" presentation that will be put in the project archives. and in another two weeks i get to visit Vandenberg AirForce Base and checkout all the launchpads...so i'm pretty excited about that.

i hope everyone else is doing fine and dandy.

hasta luego

  1. ooooh i used to have really messed up IT bands and had to go to PT. The pain was horrendous so I can imagine what it's like for you.
When can you run seriously? Or can you now?

  2. i am allowed to run, but if it starts to hurt i have to stop. i've scared myself into thinking every step i take something is going to end up getting all screwy...so i've been sticking to totally non-impact stuff. besides, by the time i get home from work/eat dinner, i end up going for a workout at like 9pm, so i just go to the gym rather than working out in the dark.
